Kraft Heinz is developing new packaging system for their product. They are working hand in hand with packaging experts, organizations and coalitions to explore technical, end-of-life and infrastructure solutions, and is already collaborating with Environmental Packaging International (EPI) for consulting, tracking and other specialist services in the packaging space. Kraft Heinz in Europe also developing into its tomato ketchup PET bottle to be fully circular by 2022. They are also aiming to use material that can be made back into food grade packaging. The company also working on increasing the percentage of recycled material in its packaging and decreasing the overall volume of packaging used.
Other than improving the packaging they also evaluating their carbon footprint. They realize that if they want to still call the earth they have to work together to avoid the rise of earth temperature by more than 2 degree Celsius. They realize that most of the carbon foot print come from the outside of the direct operation so they are evaluating their whole supply chain to be able to make better decision on what make the greatest impact on our planet.
